Hibs midfielder Jackson Irvine signs for St Pauli

FC St Pauli have today announced the signing of out-of-contract Hibs midfielder Jackson Irvine.

The 28-year-old Australian internationalist was a free agent after his Easter Road contract ran out during the summer.

The Hibees had offered the former Hull City midfielder a new deal, but he has, instead, opted to join the German Bundesliga.2 outfit.

Irvine played 21 times for Hibs, scoring 1 goal and adding 3 assists.

Editor's View:

A good player that we never got to see the best of at Easter Road.

There seems to be a lot of negativity towards the big Aussie on social media, probably still linked to last season's cup final loss.

The support needs to remember that Irvine hadn't played a single game when he arrived in Edinburgh halfway through last season.

It would have been good to see a fit Jackson Irvine in green and white, with a full pre-season under his belt.

We wish Jackson all the best.
