Hibs midfielder Joao Balde signs for Arbroath

Hibs have revealed that young midfielder Joao Balde has signed for Arbroath.

The 21-year-old has joined the Championship side on a free transfer, following the end of a loan spell with East Fife.

Ex Rangers kid Balde joined the Hibees DV squad last January and has had two successful loan spells away from the club.

However, under pressure manager Lee Johnson is looking to trim a bloated squad, so he can bring in his own players and Balde has been allowed to move on.

Hibs DV boss Steve Kean, speaking to the official club website said:

“This is a great move for João and testament to all the hard work that he’s put in over the last year.

“Alongside performing well for his loan clubs, João worked tirelessly with us to improve his game to ensure he has the best possible chance of forging a career in the game.

“This transfer was the right one for both João and the Club, and we wish him all the best for the future.”

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

Good luck to the laddie, he seems to have been a victim of our first team's shocking form.

He was getting good reviews with East Fife and has earned himself a move to the Championship.

We wish him all the best.
