Hibs have today confirmed that midfielder Josh Campbell has signed a new contract with the club.

The on-form 22-year-old has signed a contract extension that will keep him tied to Easter Road until the summer of 2027.

Campbell is having a fine season for the Hibees and was recently linked with a move to English side Wigan Athletic, with the club throwing out an offer for the player.

Speaking to the official club website, the player said:

“I’m absolutely buzzing with it, to be honest.

“Hibs means a lot to me, it always helps when you are a fan. The Club has trusted me and I have put trust in the Club, so it’s a good connection that we’ve got. I feel like this is the best place for me to progress in my career and that is why have signed a new deal.

“The Club came forward and asked if I wanted to stay around a bit longer, and of course, it was easy for me to say yes.”

Campbell has played 66 times for the club, scoring 9 goals - 8 of them coming this season.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

Brilliant news from the club, Josh has quickly become one of our most important players and is having a superb season.

His form can still be patchy, but that's to be expected for a young player, think how good he will be when he irons it out??

One day, he is going to make the club millions....
