Hibs midfielder Kyle Magennis signs for Kilmarnock

Hibs have today confirmed that they have agreed a termination of the contract of midfielder Kyle Magennis.

The 24-year-old left Easter Road this morning and has signed a two-year-deal with Kilmarnock.

Magennis joined the Hibees from St Mirren in a £400,000 deal in 2020, but his time in Edinburgh has been hit by injury.

He only managed 23 games in his first season, and then 13, and again 13, in the following two seasons.

Hibs boss Lee Johnson has decided to cut his losses with the talented Glaswegian as he re-builds this summer.

Maggenis played 49 times, scoring 7 goals for the club.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

Kyle is a very, very good football player, when on form and fit, he has the potential to play for Scotland, and if Killie keep him fit, it wouldn't surprise us if he did.

However, he was on a big wage with Hibs, and it's not one e can afford to have in the treatment room constantly.

A fresh start is good for both parties.

Good luck Kyle from everyone at Hibs-Mad!!
