Hibs have this afternoon confirmed that midfielder Sam Stanton has signed a permanent deal with Dundee Utd.

The 23-year-old has signed a deal that keeps him tied to Tannadice until May 2020.

Stanton joined the Arabs on loan in the summer, but they have moved to make the deal permanent.

United boss Czaba Laslo, speaking to the official Dundee Utd website said:

"Sam is a player who I can use on the right side, the six-position and also the ten-position. He is a good person who fits the Club and is a good signing for United.

"He very quickly decided he wanted to stay here. He believes he can help the Club achieve its target of reaching the Ladbrokes Premiership and despite only being here a short period while on loan, he was very clear his future was here.”

Stanton played 70 times for the Hibees, scoring 7 goals.

Hibs-Mad would like to wish Sam well at his new club.
