Hibs miss out on Australian International Mark Milligan

It has been revealed that Hibs have missed out on signing Australian international Mark Milligan.

The 32-year-old, who can play as a central midfielder, a centre back or a right back, is a free agent after having the last six months of his contract with Saudi club Al-Ahli ripped up.

Milligan only signed for Al-Ahli in January for 1m Euros but was informed after the World Cup his career there was over.

The 71 capped veteran is looking to play in England and has turned down FIVE offers, although he admits he would have liked a move to Scotland.

Milligan said:

“There have been four or five things I’ve said no to. It’s not that I’m being fussy but it is that I am coming to the end and I don’t want to be in a place where I don’t want to be.

“I would love to have gone and played in Scotland but it was a little bit tough to agree on a wage structure.”
