Hibs have apparently entered talks to sign defender Stuart Findlay from Oxford United.
They have contacted the English League One club, and apparently they are willing to let him go, but only on a permanent deal, and not a loan deal, which the Hibees were looking at.
6ft 4in Findlay joined the U's from MLS side Philadelphia Union in the summer and has played 31 times, but has fallen out-of-favour amid reports of a fall-out with manager Karl Robinson, and has only made the bench in the last four games.
Hibs have, of course, tried to sign the 27-year-old before, but he chose a move to the MLS instead.
Manager Lee Johnson needs to bolster his defence after the loss of Ryan Porteous and the long-term injury of Rocky Bushiri and the Scotland international fits the bill.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
This would be a very good signing for the Hibees.
Findlay has proved himself in the SPFL before with Killie and foirced his way into the Scotland squad before his move to the USA.
We have to admit we were surprised he ended up in League One in England, as he is too good a player for that level.
Let's hope Hibs can get this across line, our defence needs it massively.
