According to football website The World Game, Hibs have been offered the chance to sign Austrailian legend Tim Cahill.
The veteran former Everton striker is on the look-out for a new club, as he attempts to make the Austrailia squad for the upcoming World Cup.
Hibs and Edinburgh rivals Hearts have apparently been sounded out this week about signing Cahill, after his former club Millwall denied any interest in the 38-year-old.
Cahill is a free agent after leaving Aussie club Melbourne City at the start of December.
Hibs have already signed fellow Aussie Jamie Maclaren this window, and have Anthony Stokes, Simon Murray and exciting youngster Oli Shaw already vying for a starting berth, meaning a move to Easter Road for Cahill is a long shot.
