Hibs reject third Celtic bid for John McGinn

Last updated : 22 July 2018 By Steve Forbes

According to the Scottish Sun, Hibs have thrown out a third bid from Celtic for star midfielder John McGinn.

They have apparently upped their offer to £2m, with previous bids of £1m and £1.75m already being thrown out by the Hibees.

It's claimed Celtic made the offer just before the Hibees played the 2nd leg of their Europa League Qualifier against NSI Runavik in the Faroe Islands, in an attempt to stop him being cup-tied for the Champions League qualifiers.

Conflicting reports suggest Hibs are looking for between £3-4m for the Scotland international, with St Mirren due 33% of any sell-on fee.

Hibs Mad Says:

It's just another low offer. We have had their captain, and an ex-player come out in the last few days urging us to sell. One excuse is "They don't pay him like a £3m player".

Do Celtic pay Tierney or Dembele like the supposed £40-50m players they claim they are? nope.

It's good to see the club standing up for itself.

Can you imagine the uproar if another club bid for Celtic's best player on the eve of an important Champions League game??

Then there is their manager complaining about the gulf in money between England and Scotland - Yeah a player with 6 Scotland caps goes for £7m, one with 9 up here is worth £1.5m apparently.....
