Wigan Athletic have tonight had a bid rejected for Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet.
According to the Scotsman, the bid has been thrown out as it falls well short of Hibs valuation of the player.
The Scotland international, 25, only the other day seemed to be on his way to Millwall in a £2.5m deal, but it fell through at the last minute, after Nisbet rejected the transfer and headed back to Scotland, claiming he wanted to concentrate on Hibs.
Former Hibs boss Shaun Maloney only took charge of the Championship's bottom club last week and he has moved quickly to try and sign former player Nisbet.
Hibs are also now reluctant to sell the striker, as the closure of the transfer window draws closer and the chance of signing a replacement diminish.
Wigan are now deciding wether to make a second offer or move on to other targets.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
We don't understand why Wigan would come in with a lower bid than the one agreed with Millwall, especially as the closure of the transfer window gets nearer.
You also have to ask if Nisbet would even be interested in a move, he turned down a move to a club chasing promotion to the Premiership, he would be mad heading to one staring at League One football next season.
Hibs would also have almost zero time to find a replacement, and would be shooting themselves in the foot.
