Hibs release Alan O'Brien

Last updated : 01 July 2009 By Brian Hine

Hibernian today announced that one of our top earners Alan O'Brien has had his contract torn up by mutual consent.
Sorry it didn't work out Allan but two assists in as many years just isn't good enough IMHO.

We at Hibernian-mad wish you all the best wherever you go to further your career

What with Steven Fletcher's transfer to EPL new boys Burnley, this means that around £8,000 a week has been taken off the weekly wage bill and should give new manager Yogi some funds to play around with.

The Hibees are also thought to be close to completing deals for Sunderland forward Anthony Stokes and Everton youngster Tom McCready, though Sunderland have announced that if Hibs or anyone else wants Stokes then it's to be a permanent deal and not another loan deal.
