According to various news reports, Hibs have tonight released striker Anthony Stokes.
The Irish striker has been left out of the Hibees squad since a disciplinary issue on the club's winter break trip to the Algarve. The nature of the indiscretion is still unknown.
Stokes, 29, only re-joined the Hibees on a two-year deal in the summer but has now left the club.
The former Celtic forward gained legendary status after scoring two goals as the Hibees lifted the Scottish Cup, for the first time in 114 years,in 2016.
Hibs are now expected to move for a replacement. before the transfer window closes tomorrow night.
