Hibs release McPake and Thomson

Just 24 hours after a terrible performance against Hamilton Accies in the play-off final, that resulted in relegation from the SPL, the club has started releasing players.

Terry Butcher is currently in East Mains having one to one meetings with each individual player, and letting them know if they have a future at Easter Road.

Talking to Sky Sports News, Kevin Thomson and James McPake both revealed that they have no future at Easter Road.

Both players questioned the managers decision and questioned wether the club's relegation was 100% the players fault in a swipe at the manager.

Despite being the best player, by a mile, in the squad, Thomson has hardly featured under Butcher. While McPake, who has struggled with back injury's since singing for the club 2 years ago, has been fit for 10 weeks since apparent successful back surgery.

Butcher's future seemed to be in the balance after yesterday' result, but it seems he will be given time to re-build the squad in the summer and have a go at promotion at the first time of asking,
