Hibs release Sean Welsh

Hibs have tonight announced that out-of-favour midfielder Sean Wesh will be leaving the club with immeadiate effect.

Welsh, 22, shot to prominance in 2008-09 season when he captained the Hibees U19 side to a historic treble, winning the SPL U19 league title, the Scottish Youth Cup and the East of Scotland Shield.

He never managed a first team appearance for his beloved Hibees, but was on the subs bench a number of times.

Welsh famously had a training ground bust-up with fellow midfielder Martin Scott, that ended up with Welsh needing 4 operations on his face, and with him nearly losing his eyesight. Thankfully he recovered.

He spent last season on loan at Partick Thistle, making 12 appearances and scoring 2 goals.

Welsh also had spells on loan at Stenhousemuir and Stirling Albion earlier in his career.

Hibernian-Mad would like to wish Sean all the very best for the future.
