Hibs have tonight confirmed that striker Harry McKirdy has agreed a termination of his contract.
The 27-year-old has agreed a deal with the club and leaves Easter Road with immeadiate effect.
McKirdy joined the Hibees in a wave of publicity on transfer deadline day in September 2022.
Hibs paid Swindon Town a reported £400,000 for McKirdy after he scored 28 goals for the English side the previous season.
However, in over 2 years in Leith he failed to find the net once or contribute an assist in 33 appearances.
He did miss the majority of last season with a previously unknown heart condition and fought back bravely to full fitness.
McKirdy had a short loan spell back with Swindon Town last season and scored on his debut back with his old club.
He is now free to find another club.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:
There had been false reports that McKirdy was set to join English side Bromley tonight, but they have turned out to be wide of the mark.
We feel a tad sorry for Harry and admire his courage at fighting back from his heart condition to gin full fitness.
However we splashed out a decent fee for his services and his signing seemed to excite the fans at the time, but the move didn't work.
Hopefully Harry can find himself a new club and thrive.
Good luck Harry.
