Hibs have revealed tonight that Icelandic midfielder Victor Palsson has left the club with immeadiate effect.

The 20-year-old joined the Hibees last January, signing an 18 month deal, but an agreement has been reached to terminate his contract, allowing him to move to pastures new.

Palsson joined the Hibees from English giants Liverpool, and was a revelation during his first few months in Edinburgh. He won himself a call-up to the Iceland U21 squad, and was linked with moves to Leeds Utd and Middlesbrough.

He also became a firm favourite with the Hibees support.

However, his form and attitude have nose dived over the last few months, and stories of his love of the Edinburgh nightlife started to appear in national newspapers.

Palsson leaves after 34 games and 1 goal for the club.

Apparently youngster Sean Welsh has been told he can leave the club as well, but so far nothing official has been confirmed.

Fenlon has also apparently told Junior Agogo, Akpo Sodje and Matt Thornhill that they are free to find new club's, but again, nothing official has been announced.

Youngster David Crawford has also been released, and has already signed a permanent deal with Brechin City until the end of the season.

Hibernian-Mad would like to thank Victor for his contribution to the club, and wish him well in the future.
