South American starlet training with the Hibees
Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen has taken a South American youngster on trial at Easter Road.
Venezuelan starlet Alejandro Valldeperas is training with the Hibees U19 side in a bid to impress and win a deal at Easter Road.
The 17-year-old midfielder impressed while on trial with English Premiership side Reading, but no offer has arrived from Steve Coppell's side.
Valldeperas is now training at the Hibees new £5m state-of-the-art East Mains training facility and hopes to impress and win himself a place at the famous HibernianYouthAcademy.
His former club Centro Italo Venezolano released the player in the summer and he impressed for the Reading youth side against West Ham and it was thought he would be offered a deal.
When nothing materialised, the youngster instructed his agent to look elsewhere and the player was offered to Hibs as well as many others, and Valldepera was not short of offers.
It's thought he had offers of trials at clubs in both the English Premiership and English Championship.
The youngster then insisted that he wanted to travel north for a trial at East Mains, after hearing of the Hibees superb record with youth talent.
Valldeperas holds a Spanish passport, meaning no work permit would be required.
