Hibs send young duo out on loan

Hibs have today revealed that they have allowed young duo Kurtis Byrne and David Crawford to leave the club on loan until the end of the season.

Byrne, 20, has joined second division side Alloa as they look to avoid relegation from the division.

He has already spent six months on loan in the 2nd division with East Fife, where he scored 9 goals in 13 games.

Byrne is one of the 14 Hibs first team squad out-of-contract at the end of the season, and this surely be his last chance to impress Hibs boss Colin Calderwood.

18-year-old Crawford has joined fellow 2nd division side Ayr United.

Young winger Crawford has just recently been voted Clydesdale Bank U19 “Rising Star” and has just signed his first professional contract with the club, a one-year-deal.

It will be Crawford’s first taste of top team football, and will stand him in good stead for the future.
