Hibs set for IF Elfsborg Intertoto Cup clash!

Hibs are almost certain to face IF Elfsborg in the second round of this year's Intertoto Cup.

IF Elfsborg played against HB Torshavn yesterday in the Faroe Islands and won the game by a convincing 4-1.

Elfsborg will surely now progress, but with a home tie still to come against Torshavn, to face the Hibees in the second round first leg at Easter Road on July 6th.

Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen has said that the Hibees will face a tough match, he said:

"It was a comfortable victory for Elfsborg, but that's what I expected, I wasn't surprised at all. They are a strong team, a lot stronger than Torshavn but they had seven players missing.

"It wasn't the same side that will play against us and with yesterday's win I'd imagine they'll play a weakened team in the home leg."
