Hibs set to appoint Michael Appleton as new manager

Last updated : 11 February 2019 By Steve Forbes

According to Sky Sports, Hibs will appoint Michael Appleton as their new boss within the next 48 hours.

Despite reports earlier this week that the Hibees could be set to appoint Paul Heckingbottom, it now seems Appleton will replace Neil Lennon.

Appleton, 43, was most recently Leicester City Assistant, then caretaker manager, when Craig Shakespeare left the King Power Stadium.

He has previously managed Oxford, Blackpool, Blackburn and Portsmouth.

Appleton's first game in charge is likely to be Saturday's visit of Hamilton Accies to Easter Road.
