Hibs set to sign Grant Holt

It has been revealed today that free agent striker Grant Holt is close to signing for Hibs.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after leaving Rochdale at the end of the season.

Hibs boss Neil Lennon is said to be looking for an experienced hitman, with Holt fitting the bill, and the Hibees also in discussions with out-of-contract Motherwell forward Scott McDonald.

Holt has been a prolific goal scorer throughout his career, scoring 180 goals in 470 appearances for the likes of Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa & Sheffield Wednesday.

According to reports this morning, 6ft2in Holt has agreed a 1-year-deal and will sign subject to a medical.
