Hibs are today expected to announce the signing of Norwegian defender Niklas Gunnarson on loan.
The Vålerenga defender is expected to sign on at Easter Road until the end of the season.
Hibees boss Alan Stubbs confirmed that the deal is 99% completed, he said, speaking to the Edinburgh Evening News:
“We are close, it’s very close to being completed. We are 99 per cent done and hopefully he’ll sign first thing in the morning.”
Gunnarson, 24, is a right back, and should bring some much needed competition for David Gray, but he can also operate at centre half and left back.
He started his career with ODD in 2012, before moving to Vålerenga in 2014, He also had a loan spell in Sweden with Elfsborg.
6ft 2in Gunnarson will become Hibs second signing of the January transfer window, following the capture of striker Chris Dagnall last week.
