Hibs set to sign Scunthorpe midfielder Funso Ojo

Hibs are set to sign Scunthorpe midfielder Funso Ojo according to reports South of the border,

The Hibees and Aberdeen have both had bids accepted for the player and it's understood Ojo has turned down a move to Pittodrie in favour of a move to Easter Road.

The 27-year-old former PSV Eindhoven player is now expected to travel North and complete a move to Edinburgh.

It's not yet clear what the transfer fee will be, but it looks like Hibs have pulled off another transfer coup.

Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom had stated earlier in the window that the deal was dead, after Ojo had tried to activate a relegation release clause in his contract - a move that Scunthorpe challenged.

It now seems Heck has got his man and Ojo is set to become signing number SEVEN of the window.

Editor's View:

This looks a really good bit of business for Hibs, in what has been an excellent window.

Ojo excelled at Scunthorpe and has previous Europa League experience.

Hibs have been lacking in numbers in the centre of midfield, especially after losing Marvin Bartley, Mark Milligan and Stephane Omeonga during the summer.

Lithuanian Vykintas Slivka has reported back to pre-season injured and is weeks behind, that leaves only Scott Allan, Steven Mallan and young Fraser Murray as the only fit central midfielders at the club.

Hopefully the Hibees get this over the line.
