Hibs are set to sign Sligo Rovers striker Owen Elding according to multiple sources.
The Bit O' Red have accepted a "six figure fee", thought to be in the region of £400,000, and according to RTE it could rise above £1m with add-ons and also includes a sell-on fee.
19-year-old Elding is reported to have been in Edinburgh today to have his medical, with the fee and terms agreed for him to become the Hibees first January signing.
Elding ended last season as Sligo's top goalscorer, finding the net 12 times and adding 6 assists, as he was named PFAI Young Player of the Year, and also won goal of the season.
If Hibs can get the deal done in time, he could make his debut against Rangers at the weekend.
English born Elding is in the process of changing his allegiance to represent Ireland at international level, having lived in Ireland most of his life, after his dad Anthony signed for Sligo in 2013, and has never left since.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:
This kid looks an exciting prospect on paper, and should provide competition for Kieron Bowie - Should he stay.........
If Hibs get this over the line, it might not be the only striker we see arriving at Easter Road in the last few days of the window, depending on what happens with Bowie.
Elding should bring some much needed freshness to David Gray's forward line, let's hope he can hit the ground running if the deal is completed.
