Hibs have today made their sixth signing of the 2025 summer transfer window.
The Hibees have revealed that they have completed the signing of BSC Young Boys defensive midfielder Miguel Chaiwa.
21-year-old Chaiwa has signed for an undisclosed fee from the Swiss side, and has signed a 3-year-deal at Easter Road, with the club holding the option of a fourth.
Chaiwa joined BSC in 2022 and worked his way into the first team, playing over 30 games, including Champions League games against Celtic, Red Star Belgrade and Galatasaray.
He has won both the Swiss title and the Swiss Cup, and has been capped 11 times by Zambia.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs gaffer David Gray said:
“We’re pleased to bring Miguel to the Club, he adds strength to our midfield options.
“He’s a young, athletic player that has a lot of potential. He’s keen to learn and develop, and we look forward to working with him and helping him to progress.”
Hibernian FC Sporting Director Malky Mackay added:
“Miguel is a young player that we’ve been impressed with for some time. There’s been a lot of interest in him across Europe and we’re delighted he’s chosen to join Hibs as the next step in his career.
“He’s a talented youngster who has a lot of potential, and has the attributes to be a success in the Scottish game. I look forward to seeing him in green and white, and to see how he progresses during his time with us.”
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
Another impressive looking signing through the door at Easter Road, in what could be one of the best transfer windows we've ever had.
Chaiwa looks like a player with huge potential, and adds more quality to an impressive looking midfield and squad.
It's also another signing of intent, with more money being splashed out, as the Gordon Family and Black Knight group continue to support the manager.
It also probably kills dead the chance of a return for Nectar Triantis from Sunderland.
Welcome to the Hibees Miguel.
