Hibs have today announced that attacking midfielder Ewan Henderson has signed from Celtic.

The 21-year-old has signed an initial six month loan deal, but has agreed to join on a permanent deal in the summer, a three-year-deal has been agreed upon the end of his Celtic contract.

Henderson, brother of Hibs legend Liam, becomes the Hibees second signing in as many days, after the big-money capture of Bodo/Glimt striker Elias Melkersen yesterday.

Hibs manager Shaun Maloney, speaking to the officlal club website said:

“Ewan is an extremely talented player. He has superb awareness and vision, he’s creative and will provide assists.

“He’s a player I really want to help to develop so he can show the league the talent he has.

“As a Club, we look forward to helping Ewan develop so he can achieve his potential over the coming years.”

Henderson added:

"The interest actually came after I came on and scored against Real Betis. My agent phoned me that night to tell me that Hibs were interested.

“Obviously at that point a new manager hadn’t been announced, so I decided to wait and see.

“As soon as I saw it was Shaun Maloney, I was like one-million percent let’s get this done!

“Shaun is a big influence on why I’ve chosen Hibs. When I worked with him at Celtic, he was a top manager and he made me a better player.

“I’d say he has had a big influence on my career from an early age. The way he sees football, it made me look at football a completely different way than I did before, and he was a big reason that I made the step up to the Celtic First Team.”

Henderson will wear number 80.

Hibernian-Mad View:

Another very exciting signing for the Hibees.

We finally have a squad with good numbers, after suffering earlier in the season after a few injuries.

The Hibees have already secured the capture of US international attacker Chris Mueller, Norwegian hitman Elias Melkersen and Raith Rovers midfielder Dylan Tait.

It also continues the recent trend of exciting up and coming talent both at home and abroad.

Keep it coming Hibees!
