Hibs sign Fabian Yantorno!

Hibs have today confirmed that they have landed playmaker Fabian Yantorno on a two-year-deal.

The former
Gretna midfielder has been training at the Hibees new £5m state-of-the-art training facility at East Mains over the last few months.

Yantorno ruptured his knee ligaments while playing for
Gretna against Falkirk in January. When Gretna went out of business they released the player as they couldn't afford his rehabilitation.

Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen offered the little Uruguayan the chance to finish his rehab at East Mains, with the Hibees having first option should he prove his fitness.

The 25-year-old played 45 minutes against
Wigan on Tuesday night and put in a superb performance, that left the Hibs support wanting more, and Mixu has duly obliged.

Yantorno joins Joe Keenan, Steven Thicot and David Van Zanten as the Hibees summer captures, with the possibility of another couple in the pipeline.

The Hibs boss was delighted to land the player and said:

"He will come to Easter Road on a two-year deal and we are delighted that he is joining us.

"Injuries are part and parcel of football and, unfortunately for Fabian, he suffered a very serious one at the beginning of the year.

"But he has proved that he is match fit and the doctors and the club physios have agreed that there is no problem.

"He has featured in three of our pre-season games, although he hasn't yet played 90 minutes, but that will come.

"He is a wonderful player and is tremendous technically. He has great awareness and ability to pass and his link-up play is excellent.

"He's got a great work ethic and gives everything in training and in games and he will be a great asset to our squad."

A good signing for the Hibees, an exciting little player.
