Hibs have today confirmed their first signing of the January transfer window.
The Hibees have landed K.A.S Eupen midfielder James Jeggo for an undisclosed fee.
30-year-old Jeggo has signed an 18-month deal at Easter Road, subject to international clearance.
The Australian international has played over 300 games in his career for the likes of Melbourne Victory, Strum Graz, Austria Wein and Aris.
He has won the likes of the Aussie A League and the Austrain Cup.
He has also been capped 15 times for Australia.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss Lee Johnson said:
“Jimmy is a very good communicator, will help our organisation both with and without the ball, and will aid the solidarity of the team.
“He’s mobile, a good athlete, and is technically good. You need players like him in a successful team.
“He will bring extra experience to the squad, and we look forward to working with him.”
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
On paper he looks a good signing, he has plenty experience at a good level and has played internationally.
The Hibees have been screaming out for a defensive midfielder all season, let's hope this is the right one.
Hibs can't get it wrong this window, we need 3-4 good signings to push for a European spot.
Hopefully the first of a few.
Welcome to the Hibees Jimmy.
