The 20-year-old German U-21 International has signed a new 3-year-deal with Monaco and part of his new deal is that he spends the first season of it on loan at Easter Road.

Speaking to the OFFICIAL Hibs website, www.hibernianfc.co.uk, boss John Collins said:

"Torben is an exceptionally talented defender who has so far had limited first-team opportunities at Monaco. He is very highly rated by his club who have only recently signed him on a three-year contract and we are delighted that they have agreed to allow him to add to his experience by playing for Hibernian for the next year.

"He is a strong defender who is comfortable with both feet and I am convinced he will prove to be an asset to the football club this season."

Joneleit becomes Hibs FOURTH signing of the summer, joining Clayton Donaldson, Mark Kerr and Alan O'Brien at the Hibees.

Hibs are also expected to complete the signing of two or three more players by the end of the week and one of those is expected to be a goalkeeper.
