Hibs have finally announced the signing of SV Darmstadt 98 striker Jamie Maclaren.
The Hibees have landed the Australian international on loan for the rest of the season, after beating off a number of clubs for his signature, including rivals Hearts.
24-year-old Maclaren is hoping to score the goals that fire him into the Aussie World Cup squad and has travelled to the Algarve to link-up with his new Easter Road team-mates, who are on their winter break training camp.
Maclaren becomes Hibs 2nd January transfer window signing, following Dundee keeper Scott Bain to Edinburgh.
Speaking to the official website, the striker said:
“I am delighted to be joining Hibernian for the rest of the season.
“I’ve spoken to the manager and he has high hopes for the second half of the season, and hopefully I can contribute to that.
“It's a big few months for me personally with the World Cup on the horizon, so I’m very motivated to get some goals and hopefully force my way into the final squad for Russia.”
The Hibees are expected to make at least one more signing this window.
