Hibs striker Abdessalam Benjelloun, currently on loan at Belgian side RSC Charleroi, has revealed that he would like to meet Hibs chairman Rod Petrie for talks about his future.

The 23-year-old Moroccan international hit man has had a torrid last 18 months that have included multiple injuries.

He has also went through a divorce and had to contend with the death of his beloved father.

'Benji' had struggled for form at Easter Road and could not hold down a regular place in the Hibees first team, so Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen let the player leave on loan.

He joined RSC Charleroi on a six month loan deal until January, but after a bright start in Belgium he has struggled. He scored on his Charleroi debut, but has not scored a goal since and has the supporters of the Belgian club and the local press on his back.

Whether he is welcomed back to Easter Road by the
Hibees support with open arms is another thing, following his comments that he alone was the reason the Hibees landed the Scottish League Cup in March 2007.

Benjelloun said:

"I have not taken a decision on my future and anything is possible. I will meet with the Hibs chairman in the near future.

"I am just playing at 50 per cent because of a series of injuries.

"It has been one misfortune after another since my father's death.

"You need great mental strength to endure this. If it is God's will, my pain will ease and my form and winning mentality will return."

The player also added:

"The fact that I have joined Charleroi will not prevent me from playing for a big club someday. It could be Anderlecht or elsewhere."
