Striker Ross Caldwell has become the latest player to leave Easter Road during the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old has struggled to hold down a first team spot, despite being a regular scorer for the club's U19 side.

Caldwell had a much publicised fall-out with former manager Terry Butcher last season, and was loaned out to Alloa Athletic as a result.

He scored 2 goals in 10 games while with the Championship side.

Caldwell has spent the last week or so on trial with the Buddies and has landed a 1-year-deal.

Caldwell leaves Easter Road after 2 goals in 21 appearances, including a last minute winner, in a 1-2 Edinburgh derby win at Tynecastle in 2012.

He becomes the latest in a mass exodus of players leaving the club over the summer.

Ben Williams, Sean Murdoch, Paul Grant, James McPake, Alan Maybury, Bradley Donaldson, Paul Cairney, Tom Taiwo, David Gold, Dean Horribine & Kevin Thomson all left the club when their contracts expired over the summer.

Loan Players Abdellah Zoubir, Duncan Watmore, Danny Haynes and Daniel Boateng all left after their loan deals expired.

Youngsters  Ryan Baptie, Jamie Beaton, Andrew Black, Jay Doyle, Dougie Horne, Euan Smith and Robert Wilson were all let go when their contracts at the academy expired.

Caldwell now joins James Collins and Ryan McGivern in finding new clubs despite still being contracted to Easter Road, making it 25 players who have left the club during the summer.
