Hibs striker Rowan Vine signs for Morton

Hibs have tonight confirmed that striker Rowan Vine has left the club by mutual consent.

The 31-year-old immeadiately signed for Championship side Greenock Morton on a short term deal for the rest of the season.

It was reported that Vine was heading to Cappielow on loan for the rest of the season, but a pay-off of his contract was agreed, so the player could move on a permanent contract.

Vine signed for the Hibees in the summer on a free after he left St Johnstone, and big things were expected after he impressed in Perth.

The former QPR and Birmingham striker failed to find form,and quickly found himself out of the side after new boss Terry Butcher took over.

Vine made 10 appearances for the Hibees, but failed to score a goal.
