Hibs striker Thibault Klidje joins FC Randers on loan

One last shock on transfer deadline day at Easter Road.

Hibs have revealed at the very end of transfer deadline day that club record signing Thibault Klidje has joined FC Randers.

The Togo international will join the Danish Superliga side on loan for the rest of the 2025/26 season.

Klidje joined the Hibees in the summer from Swiss side FC Luzern for a club record fee of £1.5m and has scored 4 goals.

However he hasn't forced his way into a starting spot under David Gray, and the club has decided to loan him out until the summer.

Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss Gray said:

"This opportunity has given Thibault the chance to get some game time under his belt at a very competitive level - which at this stage, will benefit him moving forward.

"I am looking forward to following his progress and welcoming him back for pre-season."

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

This move is a shock.

Klidje has never been given a proper run in the first team, thus leading him to struggle to settle.

Spending £1.5m on a striker, to not then give him a chance to impress is a strange call from the club, especially when none of our strikers have set the heather on fire when it comes to goals.

It reminds us here at Hibs-Mad towers of Dylan Vente.

Vente scored a lot of goals in Holland before we signed him, started brightly, faded and was then dropped.

He was then loaned back to a club in a higher league than the one we bought him from, went and scored goals, asked to leave when the loan was up, and has continued to score goals since we sold him.

Hopefully Hibs don't make the same mistake with Klidje, we hope his loan deal goes well and he comes back in the summer full of confidence and is given a proper chance at Easter Road

Good luck Thibault!!
