Hibs have today taken Lithuanian striker Valdas Trakys on trial.

The 31-year-old former Erkanas striker will spend the next few days trying to impress Hughes and win a deal with the Hibees.

Trakys, has a wealth of experience, having played for no less than 14 clubs in his career, including Hearts’ parent team FBK Kaunas and Russian side Torpedo Moscow.

The 6ft 3in hitman recently left Greek side Panserraikos F.C. after they breached his contract.

With Trakys on trial, it seems to end the Hibees interest in former trialist, Roman Denneboom, the Holland international who trained with the club last month.

Trakys could sign for the Hibees straight away, despite the transfer window being shut, as he is a free agent.
