Hibs terminate loan of Momodou Bojang

Hibs have today confirmed the news that they have terminated the loan of striker Momodou Bojang.

The Gambian striker joined the Hibees on loan during the summer, but has found it hard to get game time, after a couple of poor showings and a stupid decision with his training regime.

21-year-old Bojang was meant to spend the whole season on loan from Rainbow FC in his homeland, but Hibs have activated a clause to send him home early.

Bojang made his debut, and looked promising, against Bonnyrigg Rose in the Premier Sports Cup, but only managed two make 7 appearances for the men in green and white.

He missed glaring sitters against both Livingston and Kilmarnock that seen him fall down the pecking order.

He then, in an obvious attempt to win his place, started doing extra training, without the consent of the club, and duly picked up a long term injury whilst out running - He never appeared again in a Hibs jersey.

Hibs boss Lee Johnson, speaking to the official website said:

“Firstly we’d like to thank Momodou for all his efforts and hard work during his time with us.

“We brought Momodou to the Club after impressing for The Gambia’s U23s to see whether we could open an avenue into the African academies because they produce very good players.

“This loan spell was essentially a trial for him, and for us. We felt that he did ok, but ultimately, we didn’t see him going on to affect our First Team, which is why we brought the loan spell to an end.

“We wish him all the best for the future.”

Bojang follows Steven Bradley and Joao Balde in leaving Easter Road this window.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

We feel kind sorry for Bojang.

He only got a handful of chances, and as a late substitute in most of them, to impress Lee Johnson.

Coming on and missing two sitters, in two different games put a huge dent in his chances of moving to Edinburgh full time.

Picking up a stupid injury, albeit whilst doing extra work, was the final nail in the coffin.
