Hibs have thrown out a second Rangers bid for midfield dynamo Scott Allan.

After turning down yesterday's derisory £175,000 offer, the Ibrox club have now had a second derisory bid of £250,000 turned down.

The Hibees have already let it be known that bids for their star man are "unwelcome" with reported interest also from Ipswich Town.

Hibs boss Alan Stubbs is not happy with how the Ibrox club have acted, and said:

"We’ve had a bid from Rangers which has been flatly rejected. I don’t know if they’ll come back in again but we’re not welcoming any bids.

"Our position has not changed since I spoke about it one month ago.

"It (amount) doesn’t say a lot about what Rangers think of the player so that’s probably the best way to put it.

"I haven’t had the chance to talk to him yet but I will do. I’ve got a great relationship with Scotty so I’ll speak to him this morning.

"He has been kept abreast of everything that has been happening.

"We’re preparing for the season with Scott.

"As a club we are prepared to let his contract run down so our stance has not changed one bit.

"Scott is a big part of our plans. We’re trying to put together a team to win promotion so why would you want to lose one of your best players.

"I’m not surprised by the timing but the transfer window is open."
