Hibs to release midfielder Gary Deegan

Hibs midfielder Gary Deegan looks set to be the first out-of-contract player to leave the club.

Deegan has apparently agreed with Hibs boss Pat Fenlon that his time at Easter Road is up.

Fenlon can't gaurantee Deegan a starting slot, and the player is keen to return to English football.

Deegan signed for the Hibees in the summer from Coventry City, and has made 25 appearances for the club, scoring 1 goal - a 35 yard rocket against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup 5th round.

Deegan is just one of many players who are about to become free agents, with David Wotherspoon, Alan Maybury, & Kevin Thomson amongst them.
