Hibs have handed Swiss goalkeeper Sascha Studer a trial at the club's East Mains training complex.

The 23-year-old has spent the last week in Edinburgh in an attempt to win a deal at Easter Road.

Hibs are on the look-out for a keeper to challenge Mark Oxley for the first team gloves, after signing the former loan player after his release from Hull City.

Oxley is the only keeper on the Hibees books ready for the first team, after they released Kleton Perntreou, who yesterday joined English side Crystal Palace.

Struder started his career with FC Aarau, making his debut at only 15 years old.

He then had a number of loan spells with FC Wohlen and FC Concordia Basel as well at SV Babelsberg 03 in the German 3rd division.

Struder then moved back to Switzerland with Winterhur, before last summer, winning a move to Mansfield Town.

Hibs boss Alan Stubbs admitted that Studer was on trial with the Hibees, he said:

“We’ve got him in to have a look and see what we think of him.”
