Hibs U13's win Ivanoe Fraizzoli Tournament!!

Last updated : 06 June 2008 By Steve Forbes

The Hibs youth policy has once again proved to be one of the best in the country after the Hibees U13 side won a high prestige tournament in
Milan.

The young Hibees started the tournament by thumping AC Carpenedolo 10-0!!

It was
4-0 after ten minutes as the young Hibees showed just how good a side they are.

In the second game it was a much tighter affair, with the Hibs U13 side scoring a late goal to triumph 1-0 over AC Montichiari.

It was then onto the third and final group game against a
Milan select side called Soccer Boys. The game ended in a tight 1-1 draw, sending the Hibees into the final to face AC Lugano.

In the final the Hibs youth side didn't disappoint, they won the game 2-0 over the Swiss side and landed the trophy.

Other clubs that had representation in the Italian tournament were FC Salzburg, AC Pavia and AC Lombardini.

According to the official site, www.hibernianfc.co.uk, the Hibs U13 side have been told they will NOT be invited back next year to defend their trophy, because they are too good!

Strong praise indeed.

Instead the Hibees will now be invited to play against higher quality opposition, in a different tournament next year, already included in that tournament are
Liverpool, Juventus, Inter Milan, FC Zurich, Rapid Vienna and 1860 Munich!!

Well done lads!!

The Hibees youth academy shines on, great credit must go to Bill Hendry and his team that run the youth system at Easter Road.
