Hibs winger Demetri Mitchell has become the latest player to leave Easter Road during the January transfer window.
The former Man Utd, Hearts and Blackpool player has signed for English League One side for an undisclosed fee.
Exeter are managed by former Hibs player and Assistant Manager Gary Caldwell, who was No.2 to Shaun Maloney when Mitchell arrived at Easter Road last January.
He picked up a long-term injury last season and has struggled to break into the Hibs first team since
Mitchell has signed an 18 month deal with his new club.
Speaking to the official club website, Hibs boss Lee Johnson said:
“This is a good move for Demi as it gives him the opportunity to play regular football again.
“We’d like to thank him for his hard work and wish him all the best for the future.”
Mitchell played 10 games and scored 2 goals for the Hibees.
HIBS-MAD VIEW:
Not shocked by this one, Demetri spent most of his time in Edinburgh on the treatment table.
Its probably best for both parties that he has moved on, Hibs are looking to get players out of their massive squad and Mitchell will most likely get first team football after taking the step down to League One.
Good luck to Demetri in the future.
