Hibs boss John Hughes has revealed that Moroccan playmaker Merouane Zemmama is struggling to be fit for Wednesday night’s crucial game with Dundee Utd at Easter Road.
The Hibees currently sit 4th in the SPL table, just two points behind United, in the race for Europa League football next season. A win for Hibs would see them leapfrog the Tannadice side back in to 3rd, but Hughes has revealed that they may have to do it without the injured Moroccan wizard, he said: "I really feel for the wee guy, he's not had much luck at all this season. He's been dogged by that hamstring and a touch of sciatica coming down his back.
"My heart sank when I saw him being helped off but, fingers crossed, the scan won't show any serious problems. We need Zouma, when you are an opposition player and see his name on our teamsheet you know you are in for a difficult time.
"Zouma has that talent, someone capable of producing something out of nothing. You can feel the frustration in him having come back to the club following his year away so it's been highly disappointing for him and everyone at the club that he's endured such a season."
