Hibs have today announced that young striker Ethan Laidlaw has joined English side Brentford.
The 18-year-old attacker has joined the English Premiership club for an undisclosed six-figure fee, plus a sizeable sell-on fee.
Laidlaw refused a new contract at Easter Road and will now be added to Brentford's "B" squad.
HIBS-MAD VIEW
It's tough to lose such a talented player, but he clearly didn't want to stay, and there is no point keeping an unhappy player.
It's a big gamble for a young lad who was knocking on the door of the Hibs first team, to head down to one of these big academy's down south.
A lot of players have done it in the past and have never been heard of again.
Good luck to Ethan.
