Hibs have tonight revealed that youngster Oscar MacIntyre has headed out on loan.

The 18-year-old has joined Queen of the South on loan until the end of the season, with a review point in January.

The Doonhamers are managed by Hibs legend Marvin Bartley and Oscar will join fellow Hibee Kyle McLelland under his charge at Palmerston Park.

Despite playing mostly for the development side, the young defender has already made 3 appearances for the first team at Easter Road and is highly thought of down Leith.

Speaking to the official club website, Hibs Academy Director Gareth Evans said:

“This is an excellent move for Oscar and will give him good exposure to playing regular senior football at a competitive level.

“Everyone at the Club wishes Oscar the best of luck with the move and we look forward to watching him progress during his time at Queen of the South.”

HIBS-MAD VIEW

Makes sense, if Oscar isn't ready for the first team, then getting game time under his belt is crucial.

The Hibees will be looking for the long-term replacement for legend Lewis Stevenson, and may see Oscar as that player.

However he needs experience, and going to Dumfries under big Marv is a great move.

Good luck Oscar.
