Jamie McGrath to Hibs deal collapses at last minute

Last updated : 01 September 2021 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have attempted an ambitious, last minute, raid on St Mirren for midfielder Jamie McGrath.

According to numerous reports, St Mirren accepted an offer of Scott Allan, Drey Wright and cash.

The deal for the attacker apparently fell through after Hibs failed to get the paperwork through in time.

The Republic of Ireland international has been an outstanding signing for the Buddies from Dundalk and recently made his international debut for Irelad against Andorra.

It remains to be seen if Hibs will go back for the player in January,

ED'S VIEW:

McGrath would have been an excellent capture for the Hibees.

He has been in fine form for the Buddies.

However, losing Scott Allan would have been a hard one to take. although the boy is desperate for game time after a long injury lay-off.

Drey Wright leaving wouldn't have come as a surprise, his career at Easter Road has failed to ignite since signing from St Johnstone and he has struggled for game time.
