According to reports in today’s press, Hibs could find it tough to hold on to midfielder Victor Palsson this summer.

The Icelandic youngster signed from Liverpool in January on a free transfer, and has played only 16 times for the Hibees, but has two championship clubs chasing him.

Leeds United and newly promoted Southampton have both been credited with an interest in the Iceland U21 player.

The 21-year-old has been a revelation since arriving at Easter Road, and still has 12 months to run on the 18 month deal he signed in January.

Nigel Adkins is keen to add Palsson to his squad as Southampton make the step up from League One, with Simon Grayson is hoping Palsson can add some steel to his side’s promotion push for the Premiership.
