Loan Keeper Chris Maxwell leaves Hibs

Last updated : 22 January 2020 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have today confirmed that goalkeeper Chirs Maxwell has had his season long loan deal from Preston North End terminated.

Maxwell has fallen out-of-favour after originally starting the season in goal for the Hibees.

The Welsh keeper had some decent display's, but lost his place after some poor performances, and then couldn't shift the excellent Ofir Marciano from the No1 jersey.

Hibs then went out and re-signed Adam Bogdan, which pushed Maxwell further down the pecking order, which promted the player to ask to leave.

Maxwell has been linked with a permanent move to Blackpool.

Editor's View:

Not surprising this one, Maxwell looked shaky between the sticks, then dropped a clanger aginst Celtic in the Betfred Cup Semi Final at Hampden.

He never recovered.

Hibs have two better keepers on the books, so this makes a lot of sense and free's up another wage for Jack Ross during the transfer window.
