English Championship side Middlesbrough have become the latest club linked with Hibs defender Sol Bamba.

Boro manager Gordon Strachan is a huge admirer of the Ivory Coast international, after his spell in Scotland as manager of Celtic.

The 25-year-old is currently celebrating both the Hibees qualifying for the Europa League, and also his call-up to the Elephants 30 man squad for the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa this summer.

Strachan has already built up a colony of ex SPL players, including Scott McDonald, Barry Robson and ex Hibs forward Chris Killen, and seems keen to add 6ft 3in Bamba to the list.

Boro have also been linked with Hearts winger Andrew Driver and Rangers midfielder, and ex Hibs captain Kevin Thomson, as they look to push for promotion back to the Premiership.

Bamba has a number of clubs chasing him, including his former club Paris St Germain, Rennes, Fulham and Liverpool all already linked with the player.

Hibs will be looking for around £2m for a player they signed from Dunfermline for just £50,000 two years ago.
