Hibs boss Neil Lennon has said he is baffled by claims that South Africa legend Benni McCarthy is re-joining the Hibees coaching staff.
McCarthy, speaking to "the Sowetan" newspaper in his homeland, claimed that he was on the verge of a coaching job at Easter Road, but the Hibees gaffer has no knowledge of the said role.
The former Porto striker had a previous short spell coaching under Alan Stubbs, and seems keen on a return to the Holy Ground.
However, Neil lennon said:
“That is news to me, I don’t know where that has come from. I know Benni’s agent, Rob Moore, who also looked after Victor Wanyama, but I’ve not had any contact with Benni.”
