Numerous clubs target Hibs youngster Oli Shaw

Last updated : 14 January 2020 By Steve Forbes

It's being reported tonight that a number of clubs are interested in taking young Hibs striker Oli Shaw on loan.

Ross County apparently lead the race and will have stiff competition from Kilmarnock.

St Mirren and St Johnstone are also said to be keen on the Scotland U21 international, as well as a host of Scottish Championship sides.

Hibs boss Jack Ross is willing to let the striker head out, but only if the Hibees can bring another striker in, as Florian Kamberi and Christian Doidge are the only other senior strikers at the club.

Shaw is keen to get out and get some game time, after struggling to hold down a first team spot this season under former manager Paul Heckingbottom and new manager Jack Ross.

However Shaw did his chances no harm on Friday, after scoring twice in a friendly as the Hibees beat Eredivisie side Willem II 2-1 in a mid-season friendly in Spain.

We can understand why Oli is looking to get out on loan.

Chances have been at a premium this season, and a loan would suit both Hibs and the player.

A loan would do his development no harm at all and would hopefully see him bang in the goals.
